Chatbox scrolling glitches

For some reason on my Computer specifically and a few others our chatbox is having technical issues. Mainly, for me it does not refresh unless I post again, but will not refresh others post. So I must constantly refresh the page. (I already tried emptying my cache and updating my computer) I use Google Chrome by the way.

Additionally, for others it will skip back up after every post causing the user to have to scroll down. Our chatbox has been having more and more issues since the forummotion update about a month or so ago to the point that I had to bring up the concern here.

As far as I know, it refreshes only after someone posts.

Sir Chivas is correct. It refreshes when someone sends a new message. So for yours to refresh, you will have to send a new message.

Maybe I'm not being clear. It only refreshes for me personally when I post, not when someone else posts. So I have to post to read what was said or I won't see anything new at all...for hours. Additionally as I said for others when it does refresh, it scrolls back up; ie. it doesn't refresh correctly. I would show screen shots, but I doubt they'd help much.

Oh you mean, when others post you don't get it to scroll?

I believe, thats what happens with me too since the beginning. Can anyone else confirm this?

I noticed this happening on my forum, too. It started about two years ago. It does not do it all the time, but randomly.

It's actually getting progressively worse.

It's to the point now where it wont show anyone is in the CB before you log into it and then when you do you find out there were people already logged in.

Additionally, people will log out and it will log them in and out once or twice upon them doing so. Vice versa for them attempting to log into CB.

Plus, when you log out it will still show you're logged in sometimes on your screen.

Lastly, names of people in the chatbox won't show and then will show at random moments even though no one has logged out or in.

These issues occur as a hit and miss for all the members on my forum. Some have them, some don't, but the majority have at least one or two of them. Could a resync fix the chatbox errors?

Ok, well before I try this I would just like to know if there's any other possible approach?

This is actually among the many issues with my chatbox too. Not only that, but the scrolling bar is gone, the separator between the chat and username boxes are gone, buttons are missing, it's just.. a bad time. Solving this would help me with at least one of the issues.

That's nice, but what about my problem? I still haven't received a discernible answer or advice on how to handle the issue?

Can you post a screenshot of this? Did you add some css, after which this problem occurred?

Here's a screen shot of an issue my cb is having. I've logged off, but everything said is still there? In addition to it still not refreshing unless I refresh the page.

Login into the chatbox, then post a screenshot please?

Clearing the chat-box might help
